This new release introduces a new integration with PayPal that makes it easier than ever before to use in regular subscription flows. We’re also introducing new billing features, enhancements to our Mailchimp integration, shipment-based revenue recognition, and as usual, other goodies.
What is Pelcro?
Pelcro is a subscription and membership management software that provides all of the tools and insight necessary to drive subscriptions, memberships, donations, and much more. In other words, Pelcro is a one-stop-shop to help companies drive their recurring revenue.
Pelcro Update v1.37 (Aristotle)
Pelcro’s newest update v1.37 (Aristotle) draws inspiration from an iconic man, Aristotle. Known as a Philosopher, polymath, educator, synthesist, founder. Aristotle was a Greek luminary who (along with Plato) is known as the “father of Western philosophy.”
Aristotle pioneered systemic, scientific examination in every area of knowledge; with subjects ranging from physics, biology, and astronomy to logic, ethics, politics, and metaphysics, there is scarcely any field of study or subject that he did not have a significant and lasting impact on. Because of this, he was known, in his time, as “the man who knew everything.”
Inspired by his quote, “We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit,” we believe that it’s our responsibility to push the boundaries of our platform to give our clients the best service and tools possible.

PAYPAL INTEGRATION
You wished for it, you waited patiently, and now it’s finally here with v1.37 (Aristotle). As of now, Pelcro’s clients will have the ability to collect payment through their users’ PayPal accounts.

NEW FEATURES IN BILLING SETTINGS
We’ve added two new features that we think you’ll love under the billing settings.
1 – Automatic Collection Method Transition
You can enable this feature to switch all of your customers’ subscriptions’ collection methods to charge automatically when a subscription is renewed or a valid payment method is added, whether it’s from the UI or the CRM.
2 – Charge Customer Upon Renewal
When this feature is enabled, your customer will be charged immediately when they attempt to renew a subscription from the UI. The amount collected will end up in the customer’s balance as a credit and be applied to any upcoming invoice.
ENHANCED MAILCHIMP INTEGRATION
Our Mailchimp integration can now sync newsletter unsubscribes into Pelcro. Simply add a webhook endpoint into your MailChimp account, and our integration will do the rest.
SHIPMENTS-BASED REVENUE RECOGNITION
Revenue can now be recognized based on either time or shipments. You’ll see this reflected in the accounting reports with the addition of a new Recognized revenue – shipments row. The way revenue is recognized can be set while creating a plan.
EMAIL VALIDATION
As a new security measure, all clients (including collaborators) will now have to verify their email address to access the CRM. The next time you attempt to log in, you’ll see a lock-in screen with instructions on how to proceed with email verification.
Additional Tweaks and updates:
Descriptive decline codes are now displayed in the UI whenever a payment failure occurs, which will give more information to your customers
You can now cancel a recipient’s subscription immediately that has no active future phase from the CRM (without the ability to refund)
Last but not least, Pelcro’s default UI now uses @pelcro/pelcro-react-elements, our upcoming ReactJS components library, which we plan to release publicly soon.
