Nonprofit Conservationist Publication Adirondack Explorer Goes Live With Pelcro With a Vision To Increase Subscription Revenue
Saranac Lake, NY: Nonprofit publisher Adirondack Explorer goes live with Pelcro with the hopes of attracting more readers who are motivated to protect the Adirondack Park. The main goal was to address enthusiasts who are deeply invested in preserving and conserving the park. The publisher does so by managing subscriptions through the Pelcro platform. The Adirondack Explorer selected the Pelcro platform to facilitate the technical challenges of managing print and digital subscriptions. In addition, Pelcro has provided the nonprofit publication with custom-made paywall modals, and user flows to manage new and recurring magazine subscribers.
“It has been a true pleasure supporting clients with meaningful missions and providing them with the tools needed to help them not only achieve their targets but surpass them.”Michael Ghattas – Founder & CEO @ Pelcro
Pelcro’s solutions have been implemented to empower the publication with the technical capabilities to collect the financial support needed to sustain Adirondack journalism and protect the Adirondack Park. The Pelcro platform helps the publication manage its magazine subscriptions via paywalls, user flows, and a self-serve dashboard.
The magazine subscription product combines the print and digital versions of the magazine. Subscribers are offered different plans to choose from, all of which are billed annually.
The first plan offers access to all content, including shipping of the bi-monthly print magazines and full access to digital content on the mobile app. It also provides members access to the annual outings guide. On the other hand, the second plan offers access exclusively to the magazine via the mobile app, while the third plan is a print-only subscription without any digital offerings.
The modal is branded to match Adironack’s website, making the user interface and experience seamless for desktop or mobile browsing. The product selection modal is shown below.

As a true believer in the power of the word, I like to think of myself as someone who composes expressions that provide substance. For a living, I shape the word and cater it to whoever is willing to beguile their zealous, curious, and inquisitive self into the depths of my meaning. And through my work, my inner techie strives to unravel both the simplicity and profundity of the technical message I aspire to deliver so simply.
